26/07/2012

Phoenix Security doormen from across Tyneside have been called upon to take over security at the Olympic football events.

Phoenix Security are providing 150 doormen and guards to help cover the 500 strong shortfall, which effected the Olympic football matches at St. James' Park, starting this Thursday.

Newcastle council were informed only last week that there was little chance that security firm G4S would be able to provide the 500 staff needed to cover the football ground.

Phoenix Security supplies security for Newcastle Plate Day 2012

02/07/2012

Phoenix Security provide security staff for one of the most prestigious events of the Newcastle racing calendar.

Phoenix Security and sister company Phoenix Eye provided stewarding and security for the 2012 famous Newcastle Plate Day weekend, which took place at Gosforth Park Racecourse from the 28th to the 30th June.

The Newcastle Plate Day has been running since 1833, and is one of the leading races in the world.

There were doubts if the event would go ahead this year as a huge storm and flash flooding hit the Newcastle region on Thursday night.

Luckily, the rain held off up to Saturday and event organisers were able to confirm that Saturday's race day would be able to go ahead as planned.

Even brief showers throughout Saturday didn't dampen the spirits of the race goers who turned out in their sharpest outfits to enjoy one of the highlights of the racing year.

Phoenix Security were on hand over the weekend to provide stewarding staff to maintain safety at the event which thousands of people attended.
