Bank Holiday at The Belfry

Phoenix Security work alongside Dog Handler to provide security for a popular event at The Belfry

This August Bank Holiday we provided additional security for an event at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.

The event was called Urban Rewind, an old school R&B night, and was held in The Belfry's nightclub Bel Air.

Working alongside Phoenix Security was Dawn Special, a Dog Handler, and Jack the black Labrador, seen in the photograph standing with Dawn and Operations Manager Paul Gourley.
The night was very successful and went without major issue.

Director Colin Austin said "a lot of the credit needs to go to Jack, the dog, for being a great visual deterrent."

Great work team!

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Phoenix Security Door Supervisors across Edinburgh provide security at various venues during the city's arts festival

This year our Edinburgh Door Supervisors provided security for various venues in the city at the time of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.

This year broke all previous records with over 2million tickets being sold; the most ever sold in the festival's 67 year history.

Every year thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over Edinburgh to present a huge variety of shows; from big names in the entertainment world to unknown artists looking to build their careers. The festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, circus, cabaret, music and more.

Some of our Door Supervisors even got a chance to be in on the action; meeting various performers and catching some of the entertainment.

A few of our venues, including McDonalds, KFC and Revolution, ran for 7 nights a week during the festival, looking after the party animals who managed to stay up till 7am on the weekends!

Thank-you to all of our staff who worked extra shifts during the Festival including our Area Manager of Central Scotland, Julie Gibson, who coordinated our Edinburgh team at this busy time. Great work team!

New Venue - The Griffin

A fresh look for one of the oldest hotels in Leeds

We are excited to be taking on a new venue in Leeds; the historical Griffin Hotel on Leeds' Boar Lane will be re-opening its doors as a new city centre bar this September.

The new bar, which will be a part of the Spirit Pub Company, is undergoing a major refurbishment to take it back to it's roots.

The Griffin, formerly Bar Censsa and The Griffin Hotel, is one of the largest buildings on Boar Lane in the city centre and has been empty for years.

The aim is for The Griffin is to connect to its past, back to when it was a hotel of the highest quality on Boar Lane. Its former grandeur is still evident; the building was built around 1872 and is in traditional Gothic - Victorian style.

Rob Heir, the new GM of the pub, is definitely excited for the challenge "My team and I are really excited about how the pub is coming along. What we've seen so far is fantastic and there's still many finishing touches to be made before the opening."

Phoenix Security been awarded the contract to provide security for the new venue, which will commence on 16th September.

We will be providing SIA Licensed Door Supervisors to maintain security at the new city centre bar; we're very pleased to be involved in such a unique and interesting venture for the city.
